really don't understand how he's not fired yet. Guess upper management doesn't see what all the fans/writers all are in agreement of?

no point in firing him if you can't hire the coach of the future now.

Probably because it's the middle of the season. My bet is they'll give him through the end of the year.

I don't understand how you lose to Philly and New York and beat Toronto. I just don't understand it.

That said, Monty has to be as good as gone. However, there just might not be the right candidate out there right now to be his replacement.

No, you can fire him now and hire one of his assistants as interim HC, hoping to spark the team...and start working on a permanent replacement for next season.

Prob think firing Monty signifies that our playoff aspirations are over. Granted they look bleak now but maybe Benson thinks there's still a chance to turn it around.

Has Benson ever fires a coach in the middle of a season before? Haslett was at the end and I am too young to recall Ditka or anyone before him?

Because firing him in the middle of the season is not what they want to do.

They are going to let this play out a little longer. If they are a few games below 500 or still losing to bad teams at the Break, it may happen.

Once they fire him, they are essentially throwing in the towel on the season, and I think they would rather not do that and send that message to AD.

They taped a "Monty's probably getting fired" podcast last night which seemed a bit early to me.

No. Mora quit during the '96 season. Ditka and Haslett were both fired at season's end.
