Russell Wilson's best characteristic is knowing when to run but primarily knowing how to avoid a big hit.
It's what separates him from RGIII. He's a little more built than RGIII but he rarely leaves himself out to dry even when diving.
It's an uncanny ability.
In turn that also opens up the pass game on roll outs and scrambles because the LBs and secondary have to respect his ability to run.
That's what makes him such a great player IMO.

All of this. He very rarely does something truly stupid. So rarely, that I always give him the benefit of the doubt when it does happen "oh, well, can't be perfect all the time".
If he stays healthy, he will be ridiculous when he is in his late 20's.
Still, probably the right play for Seattle not to sign him for the mega contract.

Ok. I am going to write an article pointing out the sky is not red. Im sure there are 1 or 2 people somewhere saying it is red so an article needs to be written with precise measurements proving those two people wrong

As much as I'd like to jump into the game manager fray, I think I have changed my mind on Wilson. At least to where I'm going to wait for him to not win a Super Bowl before I continue to dis him.

Can we stop with this shite? I mean really, everyday there's a new thread about whether wilson is any good or not. Its old.

There are probably 20 teams in the NFL right now that would love to be able to give Wilson that mega deal. There are 31 teams that would love for Seattle not to give him that contract and make them find another 'game manager' that will help them get to back to back super bowls.

I'd rather be a winner than elite.
And Wilson has been a winner wherever he goes.

He's def not a $20mil man.
Posted on 1/20/15 at 7:27 pm to iPadThai
He simultaneously gets not enough and too much credit. If that makes sense.

Wonder what they would rate Tom Brady after his first 7 games since Wilson has better numbers
Posted on 1/20/15 at 8:12 pm to tduecen
Except Brady was a 2x SB mvp.
Posted on 1/20/15 at 8:17 pm to Korin
Well brady had 145 yards and a Td for one of his MVPs. Wilson was better than that in his super bowl

It's funny.
if the Pats win this year, you could argue that for all 4 of the Patriots' Super Bowl wins, while very clutch in those games, Brady wasn't the reason why they got to that point and won. Defense, strong in the trenches, special teams, and a solid running game was.
Even this year, I think you could plug in a lot of the top 7-8 QBs in the league, and that team would have similar success.
But in between all of that, from 2007-2011, is when he really became one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history. 2x MVP and an elite player. The Pats gave him the keys to the car and he led them year after year.
It's why I have been saying that if you throw away all of Brady's postseason success, he is still an all-time great quarterback. Only 8 quarterbacks ever (counting Rodgers) have won multiple MVP awards.
His career is honestly very odd.

Bayou, you are spot on and shows how dumb people are. Brady gets so much credit and praise for his first super bowl, but he didn't do shite. He literally was just a body in pads. However, in the 18-1 year he was unreal, one of the best season a Qb ever had, but dumbasses don't care because tyree had bubble gum on his helmet

Yeah, he was certainly good enough from 2006-2011 to win a title or 3.
They were Super Bowl championship level in 2006, 2007, and 2011. If 2011 had a healthy Gronk, that team would have been a lot better.
To me, just because they didn't win it any of those years doesn't mean that Brady "wasn't good enough" to be the catalyst for a Super Bowl winning team. It just means that it's sports and shite happens.

Well, I disagree with this. But I get what you mean.
He was just inconsistent, but very serviceable. He played well in some big moments that year.

It was hyperbole, but he doesn't deserve very much credit for that year.
