The last age of innocence for America was the 90's. You had bubblegum pop ruling the airwaves, the economy was booming, American Cartoons were at their peak and Reality TV was just beginning to take hold. Everyone was happy and rich and not a care in the world. Our president had an affair but still kept his job. Enron was doing their thing. Much simpler times.

9/11 sort of brought in this era of harsh reality. Our shows/entertainment are more dark and depressing and so is the music that's most popular. No one is happy anymore. Our economy sucks. I never see anyone smile anymore. Just blank faces as they go to a job they hate. Lets bring back the ignorant happiness of the 90's!

I was born in 91 and remember pretty much most of my life from 2 years old onward, so I remember the 90's pretty well. Good times.

I can't really say I agree with all of your post though op. The 90's were pretty cool, but they weren't some amazing time where everyone was happy and all was good in the world.

...and you had time to remodel your house while waiting for an internet page to load, other than that the 90s were awesome.

Every now and again we need to press reset. The 90s were the perfect time as people were not wealthier, they just acted like it.
