I went in yesterday without knowing and the place was dead since I went after lunch traffic. I then was told there was no boudin balls, bisque, and the only dessert was bread pudding. Was it crappy management. Obviously the food was average at best I had fried fish and étouffée. I wasn't told until after I got the bill that they were closing.

If you are going to down vote at least explain why. The food and service sucked which is why it was going out of business

I think it was a wannabe touristy place. No way that was gonna happen so far from the interstate. That location isn't really convenient for anyone who doesn't live in the area, and the food and service the one time we went years ago just didn't give us a reason to go back. We have, however, hit the NBR one to get Poche's for takeout lunch, which was very good. I could see that one surviving just because of the proximity to the airport.

Passed every day and never saw close to full parking lots. Catered to tour business for folks who didn't know any different. When they had the old set-up with the bar at the left, I used to stop now and the for boiled crawfish. When they put the bar by the dance floor, it ruined that setup . His crawfish were the cheapest he could find (size and quality) and overpriced. I told this to his managers on more than one occasion to pass the word that he was chasing away local business.

He built the one by the airport and it sucked him dry. If he would have stayed on Bluebonnet only he would probably still be around. Dr. Hill had that Roux 61 waiting in the wings so he pulled the plug.

This seems to be the problem with a lot of places in BR .. The dreaded poorly thought out, $$$ draining second location -- see the original Another Broken Egg and Portico -- just to name a few ..

The second location by the airport was not originally going to be a Boutins. It had signage up for some other type of other place. I am guessing their finances fell through. The building sat there for a while before Boutins jumped in on it.
