Anyone just see the interview? Patrick seemed genuinely pissed at Letterman for calling him a "stooge" in the Sandler movies, and let him know about it. Dave was pretty speechless, but didn't really back down. Very awkward interview, with what seemed like legitimate tension between the two. You could even "feel" the uneasiness from the audience.

You can't be mad in those situations or should I say show it.

Just get out there a slip Dave some zingers.

I love Dan Patrick but he comes across as a moron here. Dave's right, being in an Adam Sandler movie makes you a stooge. No need to whine about it. Patrick is making it out to be a supporting role in a Fincher film.

Dan Patrick never seems happy - I liked him better when he worked at espn.

He'd been talking about it all week on his show. I thought he would play it for laughs, but that didn't work out right. Came across way too serious.

I don't see or listen to him much, but it kinda does always seem like he's bitter or bitching about something.

That was a weird interview, and it's weird that DP would take SUCH offense to something like that. I've never liked Letterman, but when Dan played that clip and Dave says "Thanks for watching" I busted out laughing. And then he had the movies in the trash.

It's hard to tell if that's 100% serious or not, but if it is, then DP is fricking stupid.

The biggest shock to me is that DP has been in 10 Sandler flicks. I had no idea.

Completely agree. Fell way short if he was going for the funny angle. I didn't see the rest of the interview, just the clip linked above, so its hard to tell if the whole interview was "testy" or just that clip.

I've started to realize that DP is the kind of person who can dish it out. But can't take it sometimes. I still think he's a pretty funny dude and that DPS is very entertaining. But thats something I've started to realize over time.

Yep. It took me some time but I have realized that radio/media personalities have bigger egos than athletes. Even the local ones here in Nashville. They can all dish it out but none of them can take it.

Ya'll can't be serious with this shite right?

It was obviously 100% staged for laughs. He brought s clip in. They gift wrapped all the Sandler dvds and they were in Letterman's trash can.

Do you think that was all a coincidence? Do you think that Letterman and the producers don't review every single film clip that goes on screen?

Newsflash: It was a joke

"If youre in an Adam Sandler movie, and youre not Adam Sandler, youre automatically a stooge"

Thats a great line by Dave.

Yeah, I've just noticed little things about DP that have set off red flags. He seems like the kind of dude that I would want to hang out with every 2-3 months. But I wouldn't be able to be around him week to week.

Haha that was awesome. Dan was legit pissed. Fallon would never have the balls to pull those movies out of the trash can.

DirtyMike has it right. Dan Patrick is such a good actor that he has most of you fooled.

Y'all could be on to something about Dan's ego...however you have to remember that most of that is just that...an act.

I would hang with DP if I could.

ETA: watched the clip. I thought it was hilarious.
