Wolfgang Puck had a good one.

We ate down stairs.

Upstairs is white linen and more expensive.

If you are using a dining plan, downstairs is one meal plan per person, upstairs is two per person.

Know that some of the fancier places require reservations months in advance. There is one Disney restaurant known for steaks. I think it starts with a "c". French or Canadian I think.

Well, we ended up staying on property last night. Tonight after leaving magic kingdom we went to the wave in the contemporary. It was really good. I had a filet, my dad had lamb chops and my mom had swordfish (the wife had fish tacos). Anyway, we all enjoyed it and our waitress was the best we have had here. Thanks all.

Mixed opinions on Shula's. Went in the summer of 2009 and we some of very few people in the restaurant. It was the night of the MLB all star game and they gave us our own room (where they would have large groups for private parties) with a full sized projection of the game on the wall. Basically had a waiter for everybody in our party and it was phenomenal. Service was excellent and steak was outstanding. The staff was so friendly and was begging us to come back anytime. We joked that if LSU was playing in Orlando anytime soon we would come back.

Flash forward to December and we find out LSU is headed to the Capitol one Bowl so we figured we would invite our friends who were making the trip to Orlando to eat at Shula's after the game. Made a reservation for 18 for after the game. Well we all remember what happened in that game with the horrendous weather, field conditions and outcome of the game but we knew we would have a great meal soon at Shula's. We assured everyone the delicious steak and quality service would make everything better, or at least a little. We are seated in a private room at our table for 18 and its packed this time around. It was noticeable service was going to be a little slower this time which was ok but we were exhausted, still in damp clothes from the game and in a not so pleasant mood. It was a completely different experience. It took an hour and 45 minutes to get our steaks out. I can't even describe how awful our waiter was. Had no knowledge of their menu, refused to return our overcooked steaks and was just a complete a-hole. Finally a member of our party had had enough of this day and experience we had been swearing by and went off on the waiter. Absolutely tore him a new one and nothing he said was out of place, all completely factual and true about the poor service, quality of food and overall experience. The waiters name was Shane and we forever give him a hard time telling him not to "pull a shane" when he gets upset. The manager was very apologetic about getting everything straight and we didn't pay close to full price.

It just goes to show that any restaurant can depend on the night that you visit it. In July it was one of our best dining experiences but on new years day 6 months later it was the worst. I would certainly give Shula's another shot in the future because when they were on it was an outstanding meal.
