Brick really don't want to go there. But he will probably go because he wants to be on the field coaching.

They take their cues from LSU. Miles makes him an intern, Sumlin cools on him. He's clueless about defense, so he just relies on what other people do.

what's the status of their current dl line coach? perhaps they are giving him an opportunity not to be embarrassed before they bring in brick.

I heard he has a child with special needs. Best to keep the child in a stable environment, familiarity with schools, teachers, friends, etc...

Not sure if that was a deciding factor but thats just what I heard.

That one fact makes one look on his situation entirely different.

Kudos to Les for making a place for him. When Coach K discovered his health issue I was proud of LSU and CLM being stand up employers and making a place for him also

For this we should be proud

yea man, I agree. hopefully we can use his talents to better our team.

i don't know our problems with DL recruiting but he was responsible for it.

Maybe at some level.

I mean, he didn't replace the OC even though he kinda sucked too last season. I think part of that is because our OC is young and Sumlin feels he can coach him up. But on the defense Sumlin needs someone with experience, so buying a coach with a long CV was needed.

Sure. He has been a DC at two SEC programs for around a decade total. That is certainly more experience against our competition than if we promoted a position coach, or went with a non-SEC DC. Compare him to a DJ Durkin who had a SEC job, but wasn't at it long enough to prove himself.

Texas coaches are simply out of the loop on defense, it is not just Sumlin. Freaking Mack Brown hired Manny Diaz COMPLETELY based on the recommendations of others. He had no clue either. The 7 on 7 culture will do that to you.

If true, can't believe LSU fans have been ragging on him by calling him an intern and offering him up as your trash

Which is why he just might end up as LSU's linebacker coach by spring practice.
