US News released it's annual job rankings this past week. The rankings are based upon salary, work-life balance, and expected employment growth. The list is as follows:

1.Dentist
2.Nurse Practitioner
3.Software Developer
4.Physician
5.Dental Hygienist
6.Physical Therapist
7.Computer Systems Analyst
8.Information Security Analyst
9.Registered Nurse
10.Physician Assistant
11.Web Developer
12.Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
13.Occupational Therapist
14.Market Research Analyst
15.Marketing Manager
16.Accountant
17.School Psychologist
18.Mechanical Engineer
19.Occupational Therapy Assistant
20.Operations Research Analyst

I would say it is closest to #20.

Damn...Dental Hygienist is where it's at. 2 years of school..70k salary.

I was kinda surprised how many healthcare jobs were on the list, but I guess it makes sense.

It's typically a two year pre-program, then two years of dental hygiene school, I believe.

Ah ok...did not know that. I had heard that you just needed an associates.

I would have done that if it didn't involve staring into people's mouths. I could not handle that.

I guess it's good to be a mix of both then

I think it's probably due to expected growth, health care isn't going anywhere and IT is in pretty much every field.

Yeah a girl I went to high school with is a dental hygienist and just bought herself a new set of tits, brand new car, and house and she's single. I've always wondered how much she made, or if she was just in serious debt.

I'm guessing she's in serious debt.
