Talked to a group of old-time LSU fans (30 years or more) and they were pumped over the Steele hiring. They think he will help with recruiting. They are all glad to have him on board.

The younger fans - not so much.

I'll think he'll do well.

Dylan Moses seems to be really pumped up about it. And he is rather young

No, because they are not lemmings taking their cue from a couple negative posters on TD.com.

it has been my experience that pretty much nothing pleases the younger fans. they relish their "role" of being uber critical and actually think they influence decisions made by LSU and the coaching staff.

also, most of them will not rest until we have Oregon's offense.

Perhaps? I haven't really noticed. Certainly, many are and it feeds the negativity of others.

Young people want everything now now now. They want spread offenses and 6'4 250lb MLB's that run 4.2 as they create on xbox. They know absolute shite about football operations period.

God damn I'm getting old

perhaps you shouldn't be so quick to judge

unless of course you just have a predisposition that makes you a dick by default. frankly, you kind of come off a lot like that BeeFense guy, who only posts retorts to people's even slightest bit of negativity

it's a message board, dude. relax.

and enjoy the 2015 spring sports and 2015 fall football

Us older fans have seen the team through the good and bad times, and have more realistic expectations. Where younger fans have only experienced the good years and don't know how bad it can really get.

Frankly that's the demographic footing most of the bill for LSU Football aside from Television contracts. The Tigers now have three former national recruiters of the year collectively riding shotgun for one of the top HC recruiters of all time. May be little late to push the current class to number one but it's easy to see the Tiger's roaring back with number one ranked classes in the near future. Should result in number one teams as well. Great hires!
