I believe that the SEC and Pac 12 are the two best conferences in football. I'll give SEC the nod based on recent history. Even though the SEC West had an abysmal bowl record, they are still the best division in college football. Do you think we'll see a power shift from the SEC back towards the B1G?

With Jim Harbaugh, Urban Meyer, Mark Dantonio, James Franklin, Mike Riley, and Paul Chryst in the B1G....will we see a shift back to the B1G? Maybe we won't take sole reign, but will we be neck and neck? Or is it more likely that the B1G, SEC, and Pac 12 will all be roughly equals?

At the top? That's clearly a yes. The top of the B1G can play with anyone. Top to bottom? Nope!

Someone else other than OSU has to start competing and playing for the national championship. Just having good coaches or being a good team isn't enough. Every conference has 3-4 good teams with good coaches. What separates the SEC from the other conferences all the different teams that have played for and won a NC. Right now, OSU is dominating the Big 1G like FSU did the ACC.

I don't think a power shift is happening from one conference to another. But I do believe that a ton of middle-tier schools are better than they used to be.

I don't think one bowl season is enough to make any significant claims one way or the other. The big10 did well this year but it could have gone south very, very easily at multiple points.

You know the sec has mad respect when they are getting shitted on for goin 7-5 in bowls.

This is kind of irrelevant.

With Jim Harbaugh

I like Harbaugh, but I've never seen a coach get more accolades before he actually won a single game for a school.

There was a time when everyone thought Rich Rod would be the next best thing at UM, and we know how that ended. Everyone needs to pump the damn brakes IMO.

Come on, man. You had a decent run in bowl season, but you shite the bed during regular season against OOC opponents.

It was just one good bowl year from just three teams that lost OOC games this year.

Wouldn't the shift start occurring the next couple of years?

Maybe at some point, but it hasn't happened yet.

You're kidding, right? .....

We'll be competing for championships in 2 or 3 years.

What's michigans recruiting class look like? I was under the impression they just don't have a lot of talent

They have 6 commits right now. Michigan is a project.

currently the B1G only has two top tier programs [tOSU & Mich St]. Michigan has tons of potential. But thats still a rebuilding project.

Again, the whole "power shift" mindset was a benefit under the BCS. But under the playoff format I don't really think it means much.

No, not at all. I fully believe Harbaugh will be a successful coach at UM for the next 2-3 years, but I don't know if he can possibly live up to the hype that is being created.

Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised to see people put UM in the preseason Top 25 for 2015 based solely off of Harbaugh. Coaching was one of many problems UM had this year. He isn't magically winning 10 games next year.

Highly doubt this happens.

If Harbaugh can elevate Michigan to national prominence and OSU and UM are consistently both in the top 10 then I'd say you might have an argument even if the conference is really top heavy
