Really spoke with Smart, Shoop, Stoops?
How do these reports come out? Seriously, is it just the agents floating shite around because these BS reporters will take anything and run with it?

Goodness gracious, will some of y'all step back from the ledge.
My God. We could've gotten Dan Quinn and some of the fan base would piss and moan.
How about reserving judgment until you see what he can do? You think Saban kept him around just for the heck of it?

Why would people piss and moan about hiring a well respected, highly touted DC?
I was ecstatic with the mentions of Pendergast, Shoop, & Smart. All have excellent resumes as defensive coaches. I think there would be many positive posts if somebody qualified had actually been hired...
Steele has one of the worst coaching resumes I've ever seen. So bad to the point where he was named as the worst HC hire in the NCAA. His DC numbers are atrocious as well. And he has been fired and demoted from his recent meaningful jobs.
I feel like that earns the right for fans to be pissed off and moan a bit.
This is an abysmal hire and it was clearly done for recruiting purposes which is extremely upsetting since LSU already recruits so highly just based off of program reputation. Why not actually hire somebody with even ONE instance of coaching success?

At least he recruits. LSU will have a bunch of recruiters and the players will coach themselves.

I understand the pessimism of the guy's track record but I do think it'll be a good hire.
Let's see what the guy does before you dump on him. I mean the guy isn't even here yet.

Come on, now. Hiring Shoop or Pendergast would've had a majority of the board happy as shite. This is not the hire people were hoping for. I hope he does a great job and does well, but don't act like as of now this isn't an underwhelming hire.

Miles never said who he was interviewing and when. The Rant's Imagination went crazy and hanging on every name that was thrown out by whoever. Most of it was BS on the Twitter! Anyway it made for some good reading!

Stop looking at the recruiting angle. He is a mediocre DC. Like I said, I won't go crazy until he fails, but he has no positives as play caller IMO.
