I will be reviewing it on Friday. Long awaited but finally reviewing it.

Ran it this weekend at VATA. It ran fine but the weight really turned me off. For someone who doesn't take all these courses the rifle would be good. It runs very clean and cool with it being gas piston.

So it's being sold. If you know anyone interested in it, here are the details:

Bushmaster ACR 5.56 $1500. Approx 2000 rounds through rifle. Rock River National Match 2-stage trigger, Rock River Muzzle Break, Magpul AFG. Includes both adjustable and fixed stocks

EDIT: Optic has already been sold.

And a pic:

I too found it heavy when I shot yours. Although it shot nice and smooth.

What's going to replace it??

Weight is my #1 complaint for sure.

A lighter AR with a Micro on it most likely. Searching around until I sell my rifle then deciding on other stuff.

You sticking with a piston platform or ditching that extra weight for DI?

The traditional AR design is great and lightweight. Stick with a light weight 16" or shorter and those all day shoots/classes are much easier. Things seems to get heavier the longer you are forced to hold them.

Going DI. Running that Sig M400 sold me on how awesome that platform really is.

You absolutely nailed it. When we took our time on those targets my arm and shoulder were on fire.

May I suggest a 10-11" AR (even a pinned 14.5). The MI Gen2ss hand guard or others like it are very light, thinner profile too. Truthfully, I have been using 20 round usgi mags almost exclusively. You find the lighter weight and smaller dimensions help make the rifle easier to use on course and classes.

My cousin's Sig never felt too heavy to me. And the Colt 6940 I ran at Tactical Response last year was the same. I think a 16 will do me fine. That way I can run a real stock without having to wait 6 months. I use my stock as a sling attachment point and the Sig Brace probably can't support weight like that.

I'm sure they are but I only have room for 3 mags on my plate carrier. So that would put me down 40 rounds (assuming mag in gun and 3 mags on carrier). Most other times people are all running 30 rounders. But for general use, I find the 20s to be much smaller and easier to deal with.

Probably. I've had it since like 8th grade. It's the email I put on shite that requires an email address. You should see it rack up emails each day. It's unreal.
