Is the notion that injuries should factor into rankings put to rest?

I mean absent anything else.
I have no real affinity for Ohio State, but I really started to cringe a few weeks back when there was talk that because they were down to the third string QB, the committee should possibly take that into account in whether they get the playoff nod. This was, even though, they were still winning.
Luckily for them, the Wisconsin game seemed to put that to rest, but can it be completely put to rest? Seems to me, that's an inherent part of the game, and if you're able to recruit, retain and develop players (as obviously Ohio State has been able to do at QB), you should not be prospectively penalized.

For every 2015 Ohio State that excelled with a 3rd string QB, there's probably a couple hundred teams throughout history that would've absolutely crashed and burned with their 3rd stringer.
I don't have a side in the argument either way, I'm just saying pointing to this one extremely uncommon outlier doesn't really make a point either way.

2014 Arizona Cardinals would like a word with you.

I have a bigger issue in weighing deserving vs who's better. Is TCU better than FSU? Was FSU more deserving than any other school?

They did fine with Stanton and the NFL has roster and salary cap issues

For every OSU there are numerous others that would have tanked

I think TCU or Baylor get in over OSU if the injury to Barrett happens at the end of the Wisconsin game rather than the Michigan game.
I also think they would have been in if they have named 1 conference champion.
