Win the line of scrimmage, be physical, run the ball, control the clock, keep the other team's offense off the field……winning formula again. All these hurry up, spread teams fail against the BAMA/LSU/Ohio State model.

Oregon looked helpless last nite. We beat em, Auburn beat em, Ohio State beat em good. Flash and dash doesn't win championships….even with the best QB in the country.

i dont disagree with you,but it seemed like Ohio State ran a pretty quick offense last night.

Wasn't that FSU's formula as well?

You still gotta have the personnel.

In FSU's case ... could not control the lines...D was gassed and confused.

In LSU's case currently...well, we are missing one very important element.

Oregon offense moved the ball
The problem was when they got in the red zone

OSU ran the ball out of the spread. So did Oregon.

That is how you beat them. They're gonna get their yards.

I'm sorry, I must have been in the kitchen when Ohio State ran the toss dive on first and 10.

You may be the only person alive who has looked at Ohio State's offense and LSU's offense and called them the same.

Yep, make them run out of field and then stiffen up.

Ohio State's offense is not in the same category as Oregon's. Power vs finesse. They did run the zone read, but I wouldn't call it the "spread". It was power football.

Bama amd OSU threw for almost 4000 yards this season

Bama-3890 yards with 32 passing td's
OSU-3707 yards with 42 passing td's

LSU-2118 yards with 17 passing td's

Do not compare that abortion of an offense LSU runs to OSU and bama's offenses

What is "running out of the spread" you speak of kemosabe?

I honestly think its against our religion.

This.

There are many offenses out there that are not absolutely painful to watch.

Yeah I really hated it when LSU called this toss dive on first and 10 against Notre Dame: LSU Toss Dive

Ohio St. didn't go 3 and out with a putrid offense and have the defense give up big chunks of yardage on 3rd downs. That's how you win. Our offense stinks and so does the 'prevent' defense we play.

AMEN BROTHER!!!!! Oregon runs a "gimmick" offense. The only reason they have had success is 1. Their conference sucks 2. A lot of their opponents' defenses are "geared up" for a "normal" offense.

If you think that the LSU offense we had this year mirrors Alabama and Ohio State, you are blind.

Jones for OSU, in the three games he played (all against top competition, Wisc., Bama, Oregon) was more than halfway to the yardage Jennings had for the season and he only had 4 fewer TD passes, and he was their 3rd string QB coming into the season. Its amazing what coaching can do
