Yeah I really hated it when LSU called this toss dive on first and 10 against Notre Dame: LSU Toss Dive
Awesome, you should have also added the Jeremy Hill toss dive against South Carolina in 2012.
You know, if you run a play 10 times and you gain the following yards:
2
3
1
2
1
4
80
1
2
3
By all means, keep running it.

LSU-2118 yards with 17 passing td's
Almost ALL of this against scrub teams....Against good SEC competition...Its really worse....
Sorry folks but LSU is in trouble next year.. I am afraid the Pumpers are in for a BIGTIME letdown come the end of next year....

Ohio State's offense is not in the same category as Oregon's. Power vs finesse. They did run the zone read, but I wouldn't call it the "spread". It was power football.
OSU runs their offense from a spread scheme just like Oregon. Wider gaps between OL, sinhle back sets, no FBs no TEs. This is the "spread". The difference is Oregon goes at a much faster pace in order to tire you and catch you off guard with quickness and speed. OSU uses a more physical approach with bigger OL and physical RBs. THEY BOTH USE THE SPREAD... Just different philosophies...

Hurry up ball ball has been around a lot longer than spread, its a situational tool not something to plan your offense around,Beaux LSU and Les Miles !

it seemed like Ohio State ran a pretty quick offense last night.
I was surprised in the pre-game show where they discussed the number of plays on the average each team ran a per game and I think it was 73 plays for Oregon and 72 for OSU, which would support your observation - though I don't know the numbers from last night

choupique you are probably a lot better cook than coach !

2 of those teams are different than the other...

As a reminder ... ahem ...
LSU averaged 13.67 PPG vs. SEC West opponents in 2014.

OSU ran the ball out of the spread. So did Oregon.
I doesn't matter what formation you run it from, the principle is the same. Football has and always will be a game of blocking and tackling. If you do both well, you will win. PERIOD!

MOAR vindication for Coach Les Miles !!

The BAMA/LSU/Ohio State Formula Wins Again!
The difference is Bama and Ohio State move the ball, get a ton of yards, and score a lot of points with the same offense, but LSU does not. LSU seems to always be in a dog fight fighting for survival at the end of every game not against a team named New Mexico State.
LSU's inept offense is the sole reason they have not won more Championships under Miles.

All offenses with a strong OL aren't created equally. How you can watch what OSU ran last night and think that's in any way similar to LSU's is puzzling

sorry, I must have been in the kitchen when Ohio State ran the toss dive on first and 10.
Not the toss dive, but ran it more than passed. They just run it out of the shotgun more. Same play over and over again. I knew what they were doing, Oregon knew what they were doing. Couldn't stop it though.

It seems to me the negaturds are who lose their shite. Predict 4-5 losses, yet when the team dies that, they want to jump off a cliff. Its quite amusing really. Because you guys will be miserable when we lose, and be miserable when we win because it just prolongs Miles' tenure.

I don't care who the coach is.. I want better performance based on the so-called great talent we have... The dude makes 4 mil a year the LSU fanbase deserves better than what they are getting for the money.

If you think that the LSU offense we had this year mirrors Alabama and Ohio State, you are blind
This thread is not about the LSU offense this year….yes, it sucked, we all know that. Its about the formula for success….and its not QB (Oregon had the best one)…its about power football on both sides of the ball.

Jones for OSU, in the three games he played (all against top competition, Wisc., Bama, Oregon) was more than halfway to the yardage Jennings had for the season and he only had 4 fewer TD passes, and he was their 3rd string QB coming into the season. Its amazing what coaching can do
Cant coach what C Jones did the last three games. Just like you can't coach him out of him impending second year slump. GTFOH with the coaching BS. Athletes win FB games. Some have the stuff to excel and most don't. Deal with it
