Their system is going to attract great skill position guys, not that they don't need to use recruiting resources on those positions but they'll have an easy time getting them.
If I'm the recruiting coordinator at Oregon I'm going all in to recruit every top Dlineman in every class. With the speed they play is try and fill my roster with AT LEAST 2 deep quality guys, and 1-2 elite run stoppers.
I know easier said than done, but being unable to control the line of scrimmage on D is what does them in every single year

Bisonduck tells us they are stacked every year on the Dline so I don't understand it either

Top DLineman is the most difficult position to recruit because they are few and far between.

You can't have it all. There isn't a school out there that recruits every position correctly. It comes down to coach up the talent you do have to overcome those spots where you are lacking raw talent.

Oregon's perception giveth and it taketh away.

They are seen as a flashy, fast paced, finesse team. Maulers on the lines don't want to play that style. They want to line up against their opponent and physically beat them.

Oregon's system works until they meet teams with a defense that is just as fast as it is physical. At that point they're fricked.

Oregon's defense was on the field a lot last night. Their fast paced offense is great when they can sustain drives but when they are going 3 and out every time the defense can't catch a breather.

They've got some good ones. Just not enough. They've got a good one who EE'd but he alone won't be enough.

Their DEs are pretty good. Their interior line isn't though. They also had a depth issue on the DL yesterday that got exposed due to being on the field for so long. They looked exhausted yesterday.

Oregon should've been passing more. That was working for them when they caught it.

D line was tired.

Elliott is a beast and made Oregon pay.

i think the worst thing to happen to oregon last night was the 1 play scoring drive after the interception in the 3rd quarter. their D was gassed, and they needed oregon's O to go on a 7-10 play scoring drive.

I'm gonna guess because it's hard for a D-lineman to look great when they have to play so many snaps because their offense plays at such a fast pace.

It's probably better for them to go to a school where the pace is slowed and they can better showcase their talent.
