He didn't have a bad game, but I don't see a pro QB when I watch him play. He's in a system that is designed to put up big numbers and hardly ever has to read a defense and make adjustments which is key to an NFL QB. I'm not saying he'll be a bust, but he has a steep learning curve ahead of him. I'm not wasting a #1 pick on a QB that will have to sit and learn for 2-3 years before he's ready.

He will easily be #1 overall. He'll be a perennial pro bowler. Bad game tonight does not show off his talents, but he's easily the best prospect coming out.

I don't think a QB should be taken #1 overall honestly. Mariota has the skill but hes going to have to transition into a completely different system. #1 QB overall should be ready from day 1 to start for a team. Andrew Luck didn't win the Heisman, but he looked ready to lead a team.

Yeah.

I think he has a chance to make it in the NFL, but he aint #1 material.

His best attribute throwing though is he has a damned quick release. Maybe some coach can make use of him in a fast break type offense? I could see a team like Philly wanting him on their roster.

What does that question have to do with him being a pro bowler? Did you say that about Bortles last yr since all the other qbs taken early were pretty lackluster?

Based on need?

OL - La'El Collins
QB - Jameis Winston (high risk, high reward)
WR - Amari Cooper
DE - Leonard Williams

Leonard Williams, DE, USC
Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama
Vic Beasley, Clemson

These guys all seem like a safer picks than Mariota or Winston for #1 overall.

I know the Titans and Bucs need QBs but they also need a lot of other things as well. Bruce Petty or Brent Hundley might be better value for them.
