everywhere i go, even with big 1/2lb patties (weight after cooking) you can hardly get a burger with pink meat in the middle. The Chimes will do it and The Times will do it, which is why the Chimes' burger is one of my favorites. Fat cow, burgersmith, riverside patty, moo yah, and masons all have patties that are too thin to have an appreciable 'medium' middle or they cook them all the way through even when ordered medium.

Flemings happy hour in the bar area.

Best burger around by FAR.

$6 from 5-7.

Quality meat, brioche bun, your choice of cheese, etc. No condiments.

Also. When prompted for fries or O-Rings, get O-rings and slather a thin layer of the o-ring sauce on your bun.

i'm a medium to medium well with ground meat. Not a big fan of raw ground meat.

Moo-Yah has become one of my favorite burgers, FWIW.

Considering it for dinner tonight. I could spend $6 there.. or spend $25+ gathering ingredients to cook something.

Portabello's Red Stick Burger is one of the best in town.

Tramonte's will also cook a burger to temperature.

I ain't saying it can't be done safely, but there's a huge trust factor involved.
First, you have to trust the the meat was handled properly before the restaurant received it.
Second, you have to trust the meat was handled properly after the restaurant received it.(Proper temp.)
Third, you have to trust that the table, cutting board, knife used to break down the meat is sterilized to prevent cross contamination.
Fourth, you have to trust that the person doing the work of breaking down the meat is free of sickness or disease (hepatitis, for example) and that he/she washed their hands.
Fifth, you have to trust that the meat grinder is cleaned and sanitized properly.
Sixth, you have to trust that the employee gives enough shits to do his job right. (Following food safety standards.)
I'm just saying, these are some of the reasons that most burger joints don't bother with it.

Or ever eaten a good burger apparently.

I've only eaten med-rare burgers for a little over thirty years, but have yet to get food poisoning. If your can't get a burger cooked to the temp you want it, then the terrorists have already won.

This could apply to just about any food item just about anywhere.

And for that reason, I eat mine med-well. Plus, I just don't like the taste and/or texture of raw ground beef.

I'm not familiar with anything else on their menu, but the burger at Bin 77 in Perkins Rowe is pretty good. I ordered it medium, and it came out as such. I think it's $10... $11 with cheese.

Yessir. It's a hell of a deal. I pimp the heck out of it every time a burger thread pops up on here.

They also have 5 different apps, 5 different wines, 5 different cocktails, and 2-for-$6 beers on the $6 menu.

Even when happy hour is over, they now just started a 2nd happy hour from 8-10pm where the burger is $9.

They have several different bar entrees for $9, as well as some nicer wines and cocktails and spirits.

For $6, I'm a cheap date!
