My livewell suddenly will not fill. I guess i should start at the pump, but the whole thing intimidates me too much to even get started.

Power at switch?

Yes, pump motor running?

Yes, check suction inlet,

No power at switch.

Check fuse.

Power on both sides of fuse, bad switch or bad connection of wires.

Power at switch, pump not running, power at the pump. Bad pump.

the final verdict via a "real" boat mechanic:
- loose connection at the perko therefore no power to any of the 12v accessory switches
- blown fuse for radio (kids are pumped up about having tunes onboard now)
- bigfoot had a bit of oxidation on the connection
all is good now. except for this non-trout-producing weather

a word about the bigfoot: when flipping it on/off with your foot, the switch is interrupting the ground NOT the power source, and this is how it is turned on/off. therefore you will not show 12v/24v at the trolling motor plug unless the switch is engaged.

Switch light turns on. No idea if power out.

No sound from pump area at all.

Fuse...hmmmm. Not sure on that.

So hard to get to that pump.
