I just got hit with damn near $500 last night from some nonsense! Two tickets given to me.. this is by far the most expensive fine I've paid.

What kind of hoodrat stuff does the OT get into?

Just under $300.. I was speeding in MD probably going 20 mph over the speedlimit in the mid 90's.

A friend of mine just paid ~$1,100 for to remove a boot... apparently there were several red light tickets that he never saw and several parking tickets... he was none too happy.

$401.50 for parking in a handicap about 10 years ago

bullshite ticket too. It was 1130 at night at a gas station in sorrento. I sneezed and snotted everywhere in my hand. pulled in to get some napkins and wash my hands. There was no blue on the ground, just a sign on the post above the spot, that i didn't' notice.
I was in the spot for maybe 20 seconds, didnt' even turn off the car, and i saw the cop as i walked in writing someone else a ticket, the only other person at the gas station.

Damn, what a way to go... You'd never think within 30-60 seconds you'd get caught in the handicap spot.

But yeah, I have to send in this disposition crap to get it off the record now. Half a damn thousand just sounds so bad.

How would this remove the boot afterwards?

Being that he didn't know he was so deep in the hole with the city, why would anyone indiscriminately just 'change their license plate'?

Got a handicap ticket parking to unload boxes near a ramp for my job on LSU campus. One of the illustrious parking people managed to ticket me in the short time I was there. Would have been $425.00. Appealed with LSU, knew a girl on the appeal board. Somehow she got me knocked down to a $75 fire lane ticket.

how can someone rack up so many tickets and be completely clueless about them?

I am not sure how your buddy got booted, but in NOLA, they will boot your truck if you have outstanding tickets….but if you have tickets on an old plate, it won't show up when they scan your new plate….those assholes will walk around on a Saints game day and just start scanning license plates to boot.

I got triple-tapped for speeding, reckless driving, and passing in a no-pass. Damn near $1,000.

He said he was aware of several of the smaller parking tickets, but there were a few red light tickets that got sent to his home in Houston and his family never saw them apparently... those frickers compound quickly with non-payment.

damn this sucks to hear. I may have gotten my first camera ticket yesterday on Canal. Didn't think I was going near 25, was listening intently to the radio. Saw the flash and hit my brake, looked down and was at 17 mph. There was a car in the left lane next to me, hopefully they were the one doing the speeding.

Not my most expensive but the most bullshite. I got a $25 ticket in North Carolina for expired inspection sticker on my plate. No big deal. Except that they have $191 court costs here. And here's the kicker, in NC you have to pay it regardless of whether or not you take it to court, because they "still have to pay someone to process the check."

EDIT: Actually that was my most expensive. More than all of my speeding tickets.
