What was your favorite song of 2014?

Just going off the top of my head I'd pick
Future Islands - Seasons
even though I think the song sounds better live than it does on the album, synths are too loud on the album version, drums and vocals need to be louder in the mix.
Here is a live version
Future Islands - Seasons - live on letterman
I'm sure I'm forgetting about a ton of songs though.

Love that live letterman version.
Really tough to choose just one its a toss up between Turtles All The Way Down by Sturgill Simpson, Way Out Weather by Steve Gunn and Alone in My Home by Jack White
Oh shite or Under the Pressure by War on Drugs. Sorry I suck at picking one.

It's seasons. No doubt.
How many lines did the lead singer bump before that performance?

Just the right amount of lines.

Very good song. I like it a lot better than Under The Pressure.

Dude was definitely jacked up on Letterman haha. I actually like Back in the Tall Grass better. So that gets my vote.

I haven't kept up with new music this past year as much as in year's past, but I was completely blown away the first time I heard Stugill Simpson's cover of The Promise.

2014 was a tough year for me musically. Baton Rouge lost both 92.3 and 93.7, pretty much destroying many of my opportunities to listen to new music. However, my favorite songs of the year were:
"Cry of Achilles" - Alter Bridge
"All Alright" - Zach Brown Band (featuring Robert Randolph)
I'm hoping to join the 21st century this year and start listening to more internet radio. BR radio has mostly failed me outside 96.9. I really hope they add a feature on their website that has a list of the songs they played that night since I hear so many great songs I've never heard before and have no idea what they are, who performed them, or where to find them.
