Is this movie worth watching? Heard alot about being a great movie if you've ever worked in sales.

Do you like Mamet? It's worth it for the Baldwin brass balls scene at least. But you can just watch that on youtube.

I disagree that there is only one good scene. I think the movie as a whole is brilliantly acted and written. Most definitely worth a watch.

Yet a lot of guys who love sales also love this movie, particularly the Alec Baldwin scene. It ranks up there with the Jack Nicholson courtroom speech in A Few Good in the Scenes That People Completely Miss The Point Of department.

Death of a fricking Salesman

The acting is incredible and intense. The acting powerhouses lined up to get in it. They wrote a special scene for Alec Baldwin that wasn't in the original play.

I think it is a great film - again, if you like a fairly simple plot, great acting and don't require explosions, car chases, CGI, etc., you should enjoy it.

The movie got greenlit based on a play without that scene - while I'm not going to knock it - it is a great scene (perhaps a good scene with a great monologue) and one of the highlights of the film, but every frame of that film is fairly well crafted.

Cast:

Al Pacino as Ricky Roma

Jack Lemmon as Shelley "The Machine" Levene

Alec Baldwin as Blake

Ed Harris as Dave Moss

Alan Arkin as George Aaronow

Kevin Spacey as John Williamson

Jonathan Pryce as James Lingk

And they were all very, very good.
