How would anyone know before we hire someone?

What if it were Dick Lebeau?

Exactly

If Boom gets out of his contract at Auburn due to Gus at SF, yes he's worth +1 mil. If it's Haley, hell no.

I'm trying to be realistic. I don't live in fantasy land like some do here. Just asking, IYHO, is it worth paying a person whom at this point is a last minute, necessity hire becuse everyone else "turned you down"

Who were LSU's first and second options? Not your speculation, cite evidence to support your claims.

The DC position at LSU is critical. If anything the OC is paid too much.

The DC position should have never come down to 3rd, 4th, 5th options!

I was trying to answer your question realistically. I'm not living in fantasy land you moron, it was a real answer to the question.

Like I already said, it fricking depends on who we hire. Just because we have been turned down doesn't mean some slapdick will get the job. Why don't we wait until we see who gets hired and see how they do to answer whether they are worth a million +??

This. I'm generally a nega, but I don't think the process is the complete shite show it appears to be from the outside. If it is, then God help us all.

I'm still hoping Clancy doesn't get NFL offer and Bricks hit the road to A&M. Then Coach O comes to recruit. If this is the case, yes, pay him as much as wants!

I don't claim to know any "insider info". However, when people in the know (and I use this term realitively lightly, I.e. radio personalities with connections, pay sites, etc) talk about people who have been reached out to and they all decline or are ruled out it has to have some validity.

Depends on the hire, but desperation can be an expensive scent.

The better question is was it worth less than a million to not offer Chief every cent he wanted.

Is Alleva that fricking dumb or did we really want Chief to walk? I have to believe we allowed him to leave on purpose.
