Then we can bitch and moan all we want about how Chavis fricked us over, but this is ultimately on Alleva.

If he is not enough of an executive to have the foresight to know something fishy was up when Chavis wouldn't sign, then he doesn't deserve to be the Athletic Director at LSU.

Either they all sign their extensions, or nobody signs their extensions.

Now, of course, we are stuck. A new defensive coordinator wants the authority to bring in his own coaches. Rightly so. Alleva won't allow that, since he's on the hook for the present coaches' buyouts, which is contributing to this shite show of a hiring process.

Even a competent sales manager at a car dealership making around 100K a year would have more of a sense of impending danger about his company than Alleva does regarding LSU athletics--what is now an industry worth hundreds of millions.

Alleva is inept. He should have smelled a rat the moment Chavis would not sign his extension.

I despise Alleva but Chavis signed an extension in November

Yeah I hear this but Chavis did leave a year early. He still had a year remaining and was a top 3 paid coordinator. Should of had a larger buyout then.

It's definitely still on the both of them. I wish we'd buyout Venables

I'd be pissed if they let Raymond go. Coached the 4th ranked pass defense while being hindered by zero pressure. (103rd in sacks) If an incoming coordinator comes in wanting to fire that, I would say pass really quickly.

Just curious did Alleva get an extension on his K lately from the BOS at LSU or was it just a raise or did he get both? TIA if anybody knows.

Because of the extensions it will give the appearance of LSU's hands being tied and forced to promote from within, brilliant.

Agreed.

Great recruiter and coach.

But I'd tell Brick to hit the bricks if he was the one the new DC wanted to oust.

Everything is a Les issue. The weather, the stock market, the cost of eggs, sun spots, everything. Amirite?

There is some truth to this. But also what DC that is planning on leaving lets all of his staff sign extentions?

Chavis is going to A&M on a whim and a prayer along with a pay raise. This could be just a money grab.

Sumlin and their AD had to pay up and get a guy like Chavis or Shoops to protect their own legacies. Its a win for now for the Aggies on paper.
Time will tell. My advice is calm down and wait it out.

Im betting Miles finds a very good replacement and we finish strong in recruiting.

DC's or OC's do not pick their Staffs the HC does.

Kiffen was glad to get a job. He didn't even get to pick a parking place.

Lane Kiffen was unemployed like CC. Thats different.
When u are currently on a staff, you have leverage with some of the staff and your future employer. When you are unemployed not so much.

If you could give good reason with logical points all while sounding sane on why we should hire Brick, I would love to hear it. I just can't wrap my head around it.
