A source tells FOX Sports that the Browns are "parting ways" with OC Kyle Shanahan. The dysfunction that has plagued Cleveland's organization for the last 15 years continues. Just one year after landing a talented game-planner and offensive schemer, the Browns lose Shanahan on the heels of a disastrous Johnny Manziel pick and reports of "friction" between the coaches and the front office. Shanny (who was never on Team Manziel) reportedly asked for his release and was granted it, while quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains was canned Thursday. Shanahan, who will interview for the Bills' head coaching vacancy Thursday and has been linked to the 49ers' vacancy, won't hurt for other offers. Seahawks DC Dan Quinn wants him as his offensive coordinator if he lands a job and there are also rumors of three teams interested in Mike and Kyle as a package deal. The next Browns' OC will be their ninth since 2006.

According to CBS' Jason La Canfora, Charlie Weis is among the candidates for the Browns offensive coordinator vacancy. A disgruntled Kyle Shanahan asked for and was granted his release Thursday. So the Browns are going back to the drawing board, looking for someone to take on a muddled quarterback situation in the midst of annual dysfunction. Weis would be a questionable hire as someone that has had just about no success since leaving Bill Belichick and Tom Brady in 2004. He's been fired by Notre Dame, fired by Kansas and had shaky OC stints with the Chiefs and University of Florida.

Except Kiffen, despite his complete douchebaggery, is a good OC

so... are they trying to assure Johnny fails?

do they not realize they need to tailor the offense around him similar to how San Fran and Seattle have done if they want that pick to have a chance at working out?

He's been lucky enough to coach Tom Brady when he was in the NFL

Fixed it for you.
I intensely dislike Charlie Weis, so I find amusing the idea of him trying to coach Johnny Manziel in Cleveland. That has disaster written all over it.

"Sources familiar with the situation" tell ESPN OC Kyle Shanahan left the Browns because the sides did not "see eye to eye" on Johnny Manziel. Shanahan reportedly felt the decision to start Manziel was forced on the coaching staff. Per a team source, the year-long drum beat to play Manziel when the staff thought he wasn't ready "wore" on Shanahan. Manziel's start in Week 14 was a prime example of this, as it was reported Shanahan and company were pressured by the front office to get Manziel on the field. The report is another dent in Manziel's armor as he heads into his sophomore season.

Prediction: After the 2015 NFL season, the Cleveland Browns and Johnny Manziel will part ways. shite, he's a DWI or a drug bust away from the Browns dumping him before training camp.

The Browns can't stop their insatiable need to sniff Belichick's jock. If they hire Weiss, that makes Mangina, Weiss, and Crennel. They are a Josh McDaniels away . . .

LINK

Oh, wait.

So they are like a Bill O'Brien away from trying every permutation. Also, they HAD f'n Belichick. Epic fail.
