Nothing ground breaking, but I know Green is a favorite for some on here, so I thought I'd share what his potential price may be:

From Marc Stein:
quote:

Green, meanwhile, is widely believed to be available leading into the deadline in the wake of Boston's deal to send Rondo to Dallas last month. However, Green told local reporters last week on the eve of Rondo's first game at TD Garden as a visiting player that he doesn't "want to know how that feels because I don't want to be traded."

Any Grizzlies offer for Deng or Green is likely to feature the $7.7 million expiring contract of Tayshaun Prince as well as the promise of future draft compensation.

Aside to @ESPNSteinLine report on MEM/Green: Cavs/Bos/MEM had talked re 3-teamer that would have sent JG to MEM, Koufos to CLE, picks to BOS

Looks like it would take something like either an expiring and 1st, or 2 1sts, although the 1sts from Cleveland are late 1sts or heavily protected.

I don't see this as "We can't afford Jeff Green." I see this as Jeff Green, Wilson Chandler and possibly Luol Deng being on the trade market pushes Gerald Green's value down. That should be our target. I'd love to find a way to turn Tyreke into Gerald Green.

Seems like The grizz will get him but they have no first.

Agreed. My post was more of a "lower your standards for trade targets" rather than just focusing solely on Jeff Green. In addition to Gerald Green, Tobias Harris, who is a RFA this offseason, is another more realstic target that I'd love to see on this team.

Yes. Like I said, I'd love Reke for Green and expirings, maybe even some 2nds, but probably a more realistic best case scenario is something like

Rivers -> Mo Harkless
Salmons + Babbit or Ajinca -> Mo Williams

Harkless is pretty much out of the rotation in Orlando

quote:

The Magic also have some roster parts that are not being used namely swing man Moe Harkless and big man Andrew Nicholson. Its unclear if either hold any real trade value, but even if its swapping their rookie scale deals for other rookie scale deals, neither player fits into the program in Orlando, so they are the obvious target chips.

I never got the Harkless love, he seemed like his ceiling would be Ariza and it'd take a while to get there. Supposedly one of the reasons he's fallen out of favor in Orlando is they find his lack of motor frustrating. But I think we're all done with Rivers so why not give Harkless a try.

Truth be told, I don't want to mortgage any future picks for any roster upgrades at this point.

I'm tentative to even give Monty a competent SF for the rest of the year. We'd need to go 33-14 or so to finish with 50 wins and a possible playoff spot, which is wildly unrealistic.

Getting Monty out of here is priority #1-10 for this team moving forward.

I forgot about Harkless. I'm like you, I don't think he's our long term answer at the 3, but what would it hurt at this point? He shot decently from the 3 last year, and maybe a change of scenery would help him out.

I'd do Ryan for Jeff Green at this point. Anderson's defense is just too awful for me to watch anymore.

Green gives you a legit starting SF, but can also play some of the stretch 4 that Anderson plays.

You can attach a Rivers for Jameer Nelson swap to get a decent backup PG for the rest of the season

According to Trade Machine, Nelson cannot be traded "along" with another player.

Along with another player on his own team. You could just make the two trades separately.
