Does anyone find it a little strange that ESPN has had zero to say about the coaching search? Have they learned their lesson about reporting on LSU coaching situations, or is it a case of there actually are zero credible sources with knowledge right now?

There's really nothing for them to report. No official word from any school involved

That is because you only hear rumors. They only announce real stuff.

If we hire Coach Ogre, that will be a headline news item.

There is kind of a lot bigger college football news this week than an 8 and 5 team looking for a DC

It's a mediocre, "Non-Elite" college team that will not be listed among the Top 25 at seasons end, desperately trying to fill a coordinator position. It really aint a big deal.

Do you think they will report all the "done deals" reported here?

Even hack journalism is better than that.

ESPN hates LSU?

It could also be that LSU fans are the only people that care that about a DC hire. Maybe they are just doing it to screw with you personally.

It's January, not July. There is a lot of sports news much more important than a college coordinator search.

Because it's a coordinator position. You don't even hear about a position coach much when it happens in the NFL. It's only a national story if it's the head coaching position.

ESPN doesn't care about coordinator searches. They barely follow head coaching searches for name programs. Just report once a hire is made.

Our view of how important these searches are is skewed.
