Obviously he was not hired. If he was not interested why would he apply and interview. We don't know if salary was the issue or other things.

People keep saying this when they have no clue what is going on during these interviews and what if any contracts are being offered.
All I see is
-Miles is getting fired no one wants the job
-Alleva is a cheap arse no one wants the job
-This coach used us for a pay raise
-LSU is completely in inept at everything they do

If there was a strong candidate out there, even potentially better than Chief, LSU would shell out the money and move on. Not having a DC is affecting recruiting. Every day that passes is detrimental to LSU.
I have a fear that what Chavis said about LSU's offense is frightening prospects from coming here.
Think about it. LSU in the last 10 years has the second most wins of any school. Puts more players in the NFL than anyone else. Has a talent rich state with easy recruiting. Despite all of that, they can't hire a guy who coached at Vandy and Penn St? Eh. It's just not adding up. It looks terrible on LSU. Statements need to be made.

ETA: Of course, it could just be Miles is going through the motions because he wants to promote Haley. This could all be posturing for the fan base and TAF.

I know that so many big names being thrown out there with zero hires made is fricking embarrassing and that no one wants to play or coach for an embarrassment.
