What an awesome movie. That guy Daniel Day Lewis does not play around when he acts. He was very convincing as Christy Brown. I'm not sure many actors could pull this roll off. Kudos to the kid who played the young Christy Brown.
This movie was very moving, triumphant, but at times funny.
Very believable acting. You see the characters and not the actors. Character development was very good. Story was phenomenal. Probably the best movie I've seen in the last 5 years.

Ive always said that DDL's performance in My Left Foot is the single greatest performance ever.

that was a great performance. Don't forget young Christy Brown actor. When he was writing "Mother", you see his facial expression of struggling with his forehead sweating...you just want to root for him so bad.

Yeah, kid has a real future if he sticks with it.

movie kicks arse. of course, this thread will maybe get 12 replies and plummet off the first page, while some shitty comic book movie will go 40 pages

It's a great performance by Lewis. Brenda Fricker is great as his mom too. A wonderful movie about an extraordinary person's life.
The comic book, superhero, fantasy hipsters are rampant. It's their board. I just post here.

Never seen this movie. Thought it was about someone with a club foot and didn't think it sounded interesting.

Unless the left foot has some super powers, not interested

Great movie. A couple of years ago I went on a DDL kick and watched this, In the Name of the Father, and The Boxer back to back. I think it was most of the DDL films on Netflix at the time that I hadn't seen. My Left Foot was the best followed to In the Name of the Father.
I looked a bit of the wiki on Christy Brown after watching this movie. That last chick he ended up with in the movie seems like she was probably a crazy bitch likely using him for his success.

I don't think a superhero with a powerful left foot can write a book, draws paintings, and defend your own father's honor.

I hate the name of the movie

He may not be your favorite actor but is there any doubt that any GOAT actor discussion should start off "After DDL, who is the GOAT?"

Did the same thing during Lincoln. People would refer to him as Mr president even when not filming
