I'm frustrated with the lack of information

I'm not only talking about the ultimate decision of who is hired. I'm talking about the process.
After the Chavis departure, and the perceived turmoil surrounding that move, I firmly believed that Miles HAD to step up and be a vocal leader for the program. He needed to be out front letting people know what his intentions were, that this was an opportunity for improvement for LSU, etc.
More importantly, I thought that the worst thing he could have done was go into a shell and leave everyone wondering what was going on. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened.
8 days into the official search, we don't know where the process stands. We don't know if interviews are ongoing. We don't know if the field has been narrowed down. We don't know if we are at square 1 because none of the candidate are a match. 100% of the information is speculation.
Simple info, like "first round of interviews were performed." Another round of interviews are scheduled during the coaches conference next week go a long way to setting the expectations.
I don't expect an open book. But, I think it's a mistake that Miles isn't out in front of this process. This was a time when it was needed, IMO.

Hate to say it but I believe the decision was already made an this is just to appease the base to soften the backlash

This is all silly. These processes don't work when they are in the public. The fan base does not need to know, and there is no point in providing status updates.

Let me be clear...slowly so you understand.
I'm not suggesting I"m owed information.
What I'm suggesting is that, in my opinion, a well communicated transition would have been in the best interest of the program. And, in my opinion, Miles has failed to do that.

"well communicated" =/= Miles.
Not bashing but, come on. Really?? Has any hire gone this way?
I did read a quote from him in Advocate or NOLA that a hire should be made by this weekend. That is something right there for ya!

This is some of the dumbest shite ive ever read.
A well communicated transition?
Why dont you provide us with some examples of well communicated football coaching transitions.

You really think we'll be here next year saying "Why didn't Miles let us know Coach X was the guy sooner?" Who we hire matters much more than how quickly the public finds out. Just relax.

Do you think Les Miles, his staff, his players, give a crap about keeping you or me informed throughout this process?
I can promise you that the people who need to know what is going on, do know exactly where they are at in the process. Those of us that don't really have any need to know, don't know. And you are most probably one of those people.
We have become to spoiled with social media and messages boards, with information leaking somewhere and then spreading like wild fire. I'm actually enjoying the fact that this has been done behind closed doors and kept very tight-lipped. I think it's a good thing for Miles and for LSU. It's also funny watching all the speculation from idiots on here, who feel the need to know something RIGHT away. Those people are on this board grasping at air, trying to feel like they know something every single day. And the OP is one of them.
Sit back...let Miles do his thing, and then decide to either support LSU or not. That's about all you have control over in any of this, whether you will be a supporter and a fan or not. And I can promise you nobody at LSU gives a crap either way.

I think the fan base is losing confidence the longer this goes. And, I think that hurts the program. And, more importantly, it's a lost opportunity to set the tone for the program, deliver on a great hire, and set the stage for would could be a good 2015.

Obviously. I didn't suggest otherwise. And, I'm certainly not suggesting that a home run hire would be nullified by the process it took to get to that point.

I think he cares about the program. That's what I care about. My objection is that I don't think he's doing what is in the best interest of the program.

Nobody knows. That's clear. The only people who know are Miles and Alleva most likely.

I don't think it's in the best interest of LSU. And, I ABSOLUTELY 100% think that having a fan base that has confidence in the direction of the program is important.
Feel free to disagree. But, it is my opinion that this is a time when it would be beneficial to get some positive momentum from a PR perspective within the fan base.
For everything LSU has going for it, the divided fan base is one of its biggest weaknesses. And, a lot of that is an unwillingness to feed the fans information when they are interested in it.
