I enjoyed the first one and was looking forward to seeing the other two. Have they decided not to film them?

The first one did not meet expectations at the box office.

ETA: You can watch the foreign versions of two and three.

ETA: Here is what the first one did at the box office.

Budget: $90,000,000 (estimated)
Opening Weekend: $12,750,000 (USA) (23 December 2011)
Gross: $102,515,793 (USA) (16 March 2012)

Just watch them on NetFlix. I didn't see the Americanized version, but there was nothing wrong with the original versions with subtitles.

I only saw the foreign versions. They were all very well done. I would just go with that option or read the books if you want more of the story.

I've tried. The subtitles are too much for me. It's good to see they are going ahead with the second film.

I wouldn't expect Fincher and maybe even Craig to be back. If these sequels ever get made it will be with much smaller budgets.

To be honest, I'm not sure why that book needed a 90 million dollar budget. Seemed excessive to me.

Also, they marketed it all wrong. Came out around Christmas and marketed it as "the feel bad movie of the year". Wonder what genius figured that most Americans would be drawn to that?

Fincher is one of the highest paid directors working right now. I would bet he made more than any of the actors.

Doesn't sound hopeful that the movie will be made anytime soon. As of September, the only thing they had to go on was that Fincher said that the movie would most likely eventually happen being that they've already sunk so much into the script and that Mara and Craig are signed on for 3 movies.

No updates since then doesn't spell bode well.
