Thought he really was a strong candidate with a great resume. What happened?

I would guess since lots of NFL jobs are open he is hoping for that.

Also one poster said Alleva only wants to give a two year contract so that could of run him off. Might want a longer term commitment.

We really have problems if Alleva is meddling in these hires/contracts. As long as miles is the coach he needs to back the hell off. This team is poised to have a great run the next couple of years and we're going to get fricked by Alleva. At this point it just seems like he's trying to sabotage miles.

the reality is nobody has a fricking clue, so no matter what you read on here or elsewhere none of us will know until it is actually announced.

Yes, he wanted to bring in his own guys and Miles wants to keep his current staffers. Heard this on Matt Moscona this evening.

Sound Plausible

So does Alleva'a budget given to CLM for the hiring was not enough

hires/contracts

I assure you that Alleva is definately meddling with one of those. Would you really want Les scripting a contract? Even if he was to stumble across a workable template, he'd fill-in the blanks with the same 6 words... want, desire, challenge, opportunity, quality, and victory.

Alleva is a money man. That's it. He doesn't care about the quality of team we put on the field until its decline starts eating away at revenue. He wouldn't green light the firing or "demotion" of Crowton following 2009, and we lucked out after Maryland took him off our hands after 2010. I hope he stays out of this until it's time for his name to be signed on the contract.

Of course, I don't mean it exactly like that, but Alleva needs to back off and let Miles sink or swim.

I'm not sure we want to place too much credence on what that guy says.

I seriously trust Les in this exponentially more than I do Alleva.

Who knows? We haven't gotten much information at all during this process. I am guessing we will find out when it's all over.

IT is the process, nothing specific-too much micromanagement and unwillingnes to provide flexibility. Loyalty to current coaches,

When you are interviewing top candidates you have to remember they are interviewing you also- their observation of the hiring coach and AD - You ask yourself- do I really want to coach under this HC and work for this AD?

If you are a top candidate what you want to hear is "we want you what do we need to do get you to be an LSU Tiger?"

What they do not want to hear is " this is the opportunity of a lifetime-coaching at LSu with the greatest talent- we already have a great coaching staff- if you will come in help us win championships we will take care of you"

Finally a top tier candidate does not want to hear- "YOu are our top candidate but we have some other interviews and we will get back to you "

If you are the top candidate you expect to be reeled in from day one.

Look how quickly other schools are reeling in staff.

I would suppose CP wanting to bring in his own staff was something Les found out in the interview. Otherwise, I suspect he would have never been a candidate.
