Mix up Peep Show and IT Crowd (sub 30 minute comedies) with either Deadwood, Sherlock, Rome, or Six Feet Under (50+ minute dramas/dramadies).

ETA: Missed Sherlock on your list. The other three more pure dramas (with some laughs) stand.

Finished that one a few days ago. Great show. Prefer my other suggestions to it, but definitely one to put in the watchlist.

also if horse racing interests you luck was good, but it only lasted 1 season due to horses getting killed. I liked it though.

The Shield. Especially considering what you've watched already.

The Returned (Les Revenants) - Highly recommend
Terriers - Highly recommend
Happey Valley
The Fall - 2nd season hits Netflix later this month

All are on Netflix.

ETA: Longmire - Contemporary western and a popular show (so much so Netflix decided to pick it up for another season), at times I was not sure how felt about it but it is an easy going series to watch. Also on Netflix.

Lilyhammer - Netflix original series, really funny gangster/crime series set in Norway.

This, Firefly, and Freaks and Geeks are easily the best one and dones ever. Need to give it another watch as I haven't seen it in 3 or so years and no longer remember the plot.
