If Miller or golson comes in and runs the stating job? That's allowed isn't it?

Yes. Harris needs it. He can be an Elite college QB if he can get his mind and body right.

btw Dobbs WANTED a redshirt this year but was forced into action.

No, absolutely not.

You let him compete and let him play when you can.

I literally just posted this remark in a different thread!

"I think BH needs to sit down with someone that can advise him that sitting and learning for one more year then leading the team for 2 solid years is a good thing.

He needs to develop both mentally and physically and develop starting qb and leadership behaviors.

His millions are waiting for him. But every one cant go 3 years and to the NFL. If he wants to be a Johnny football suit yourself but I would advise to sit tight and learn and soak it in. His opportunity will come. "

Harris NEEDS to be redshirted if we bring in Miller. But you don't redshirt a sophomore. Slap in the face to the player.

In BH's case, the more time with Cam Cameron's teaching, the better prepared for the NFL he'll be.

If he has the opportunity to be drafted where JF was drafted and make the money JF is making, you would advise him to stay at LSU?

I agree with the theory behind giving Harris another year to "mature".

But, assuming Miller transfers and, I think LSU would be better off going ahead and working packages for Harris into the offense and letting him have some playing time so that he can be the starter from the get go in 2016.

If you redshirt anyone, it might be Jennings and that is assuming he would be okay with being a career back up from that point

I really think that is the best thing I heard so for. If you can get him to check his ego at the door.Jennings and Miller could fight for the job and save Harris a year

I seriously doubt Harris will be willing to sit two years before playing. Honestly think he would explore other schools. Kid has the talent to play, just needs to physically mature and mentally mature some. Hopefully this season helped him with that, and this spring will elevate his game.

The simple fact is no one really knows exactly how much he needs to mature mentally lol.... A redshirt may do him good? I don't understand why a RS is looked at as negative? These kids need to learn that a little patience can earn you millions of dollars and it takes all the pressure off of the starter and the person RSing. I would def give him the option but I would put it out there to see if he can be humble and if so that may be the start of greatness for the young man, but no I wouldn't say you have to and make him unhappy and want to transfer. He has a future at LSU you can see it. A lot can happen in a year so, you never know one of or both if these QBs could come in a it may spark something in him and he may beat them out. It's a win win for LSU to go after competition for both of our QBs. Go Tigers!

Rules may have changed but I'm almost certain that Harris would not be eligible for a red shirt. Years ago, it was if you took a snap after the 5th game your true freshman year, you couldn't. The. It went to a snap or certain number of plays up to the 5th game. Like I said, I'm not sure it's even am option

You got 5 years to play 4. You can redshirt any year.
