Moved back to New Orleans this summer. Planned to see my dentist after the new year (saw him for 17 years before moving to Baton Rouge then traveled to see him for 3 years after moving to BR). I stopped the travel because of panic attacks,

Did an online look up and found his obituary. I am just devastated. He was such a kind gentle person.

How panicked are you knowing that someone new will have their hands in your mouth?

Do you think "devastated" may be a slight exaggeration?

That's what happens when your dentist is just as old or older than you

and you remember street cars on Magazine

No, devastated is not an overreaction. I am very sad to learn this. He was not much older than me. Probably never had the chance to retire.

Sorry for you loss. I hope you find someone to fill the cavity he leaves in your life. It takes time to get beyond the veneer, and truly bond with a dentist.

May I suggest Ruzil? He has been my OT dentist for a year now.
