The posi-tigers will not want to read this article but it is a wake up call for them. Statistic's and records don't lie, only people do.

Not saying that you can't come out of a decline but it is pretty clear that is where the LSU football program's record and stats say is happening.

Jax- can you point out specifically what in the article you disagree with.

"One bad season " may be an oversimplification.

In 2011 we finished 2nd out of 126, in 2012 we finished 12 out of 126, in 2013 we finished 14 out of 126.
In Les Miles tenure no program has been ranked in the top 25 more than lsu. That proves 2014 season as the outlier. Not the norm.

We are on a downward path, we have gotten worse since the title game. Miles can recruit but his coaching isn't a program changer. He wins with loads of talent in spite of Miles. He has yet to recruit and develop a QB himself. Mett wasn't all because of Miles. I think most can see the reality of the situation. Les has sucked the life and excitement out of the program. Its not very enjoyable anymore. Les has won a lot here but he is also very fortunate he hasn't lost a lot. He has had a lot of luck over the years but his luck is running out. The SEC as whole is getting stronger, recruiting well, and developing players. LSU was expected to lose a few games this year but in reality, the entire season was a failure. We failed to develop or make any type of improvements in the passing game. The offensive line next year could be a question mark, as well as a few positions on defense. Unless LSU develops a decent passing attack. We will not win our division next year.

Ok. The best coach in cfb with the best talent in all cfb loses every single year.this notion that lsu has more talent than every sec program not named bama is laughable. Auburn, florida, and UGA recruit as well as us. Where are they? Are all their programs on decline toom

This is the dumbest thing on the rant. You dont get too having a top 5 win % in sec history and the best ooc win % in sec history by being an average coach.

JLee and Jj both had good senior seasons and he recruited Mett and Mett got far better his senior year. He spent 3 years at lsu.

Alabama is 0-2 in its last two bowl games. LSU is 1-1.

Lee yes was very good game manager as a SENIOR. JJ was horrible. After he became the starter our offense spiraled backwards. Mett was already a very solid QB. He had the tools and showed life at the end of his Junior year. After working his arse off in the offseason and worked with Cam a little he was very good. It also helps when you have Landry and OBJ

Well I hate the idiot posi-tigers that refuse to open their eyes to the facts!!!

LSU was first in the West in 2011, tied for second in 2012, third in 2013 and tied for fourth this season.

hmmmmm there seems to be a trend there, are you fricking smart enough to figure it out?????

hooooolie shiiiiit, i'm posi and i see gold.
and the negs see shite. wow!

They say history is the best predictor of the future.

If so, this is a pretty interesting point in history for the LSU football program.

Despite whatever frustration and angst that may have resulted from the 2014 season, this remains the longest sustained period of success for LSU football ever.

The Tigers have had 15 straight winning seasons and been to 15 straight bowl games. That’s not something any other Southeastern Conference program can say.

Since this purple and gold age began, LSU has gone 8-5 three times: in 2002 under Nick Saban and in 2008 and now 2014 under Les Miles.

I love how the worst years out longest tenured coach has ever had are 8-5 years with good bowl opportunities.

Look around the last 50 years of college football and see where that stacks up.

Quite frankly, the only two options for the program are "steady as she goes" or decline.

Go ahead and freak at the slightest hint of "decline" all you want.

One down year? What do you consider down?

2008 8-5, 3-5 SEC
2009 9-4, 5-3 SEC
2014 8-5, 4-4 SEC

That's 3 of the last 7
