Wouldnt worry about it. Some people can smoke their whole life and are fine. Plus smoking is an addiction. There only going to stop if THEY want to stop

Both my parents. Fortunately my mom's New Year's resolution is to quit it, we'll see how it goes.

Several of my friends smoke. Some are regular smokers and some are casual smokers. They are adults and know the risks.

My great grandma literally smoked for 100 years and died of a stroke

I thought I'd clarify the literally comment because people won't take it as literally. She started smoking at age 6 and smoked until she died at 106

Yes.

My wife has two really close friends that smoke. They are sweet girls that I care about deeply. They are grown women, a RN and a EE, and they know the deal.

I have a friend who smokes about an 8th every day. It's pretty impressive honestly.

Yeah, maybe some people. I love this argument. Just because you know someone that lived to 100 and smoked two packs a day and drank a bacon fat milkshake every morning doesn't mean everyone can do it. The odds are that smoking will kill you and it won't be pretty and painless when it does kill you.

<- Former smoker. I smoked for 10 years but decided to give it up for health reasons.

Was the cancer related to smoking? So many things can cause the various types. I'm sure heavy smoking causes all kinds of health problems but wonder about light smoking, sometimes seems like trying to save on electricity bill by turning off a light.

I have a few friends that I see smoking here and there when we all go out, I assume they don't chain smoke all day normally though...

Not at all. They are far more educated than me, so I assume they know the risks.

It did make me do a double-take the first time I saw them do it though. They went down a notch in my book, but I still like them overall.

The only smoker in my family was my grandpa. It gave him heart disease and he passed when I was 10...

I am not close with any cigarette smoker. I don't associate with nasty, trashy people.

Dang. 6 is the youngest I've ever heard of anyone smoking.
