Aside from the Arkham City games, are there any other good super hero games

out there? With the success of the Marvel movies, one would think there would be more good games out there with Marvel characters. I have played the first Amazing Spiderman game, but it was basically Arkham City with Spiderman. Not that that's a bad thing. Game was OK.

Spider-Man 2, but that's a bit old now.
The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and X-Men Origins Wolverine are also not bad.
Although none of these are Batman: Arkham Asylum.

The X Men games where you had control of 4 mutants at once was good, but those are pretty old now. Maximum Carnage on the SNES was good. Turtles in Time. Damn, I wish someone would make some good superhero games again.

Thanks, but I should have specified for the PS3. I don't play a whole lot so I won't be purchasing a PS4 for another year or so.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance and some DC game both came out very early in the PS3's life and are basically the same as X-Men Legends on PS2 but decent enough.

No touching the Arkham series. The series had a copy and paste job from a different studio that's better than any other super hero game ever made.
I also vote wolverine. You certainly feel like wolverine, it's just that isn't a very nuanced experience. You still feel like wolverine, and the carnage...
But to the OP, you won't find anything remotely comparable to the Arkham series in the super hero genre. SNES, as previously mentioned, is pretty awesome

I loved the marvel ultimate alliance games. Wish dead pool would have been better. That character seems perfect for a great game.

Marvel Heroes is a really good multiplayer Action RPG for PC. Free to play with microtransactions.

Wolverine Origins is an awesome game. No joke.
When he gets injured his skin and organs tear away but you can see his adamantium skeleton as the skin slowly heals back.
The combos and moves you can do are awesome. It's just a great game. Very underrated.
