an LSU football game?

I believe in 1996 there were strong rumors Clinton was going to pass through on a campaign stop for Landrieu but this never transpired.

Interesting question. Any resident historian care to chime in?

I'm thinking not because it would have been a pretty big deal.

I seem to remember that Clinton was at an LSU - Arkansas game played in Little Rock when he was in office but I'm not100 % sure.

Not a President, but, a Governor at least once. In the 80's, I was a La. State Senator and my wife was from Tupelo, Ms.. One home game with LSU vs. Miss. State, Gov. Edwards called me and asked me to host the Ms. Gov., William Winter and after the game take him to the Governor's mansion for the usual after game party. I did and enjoyed it a lot. Edwards did not like football at all, we used his 50 yard line seats. I had my own 2 seats on the 20, that I had had for 10 years. I had the Gov's seat this time.

Well, why stop with the U.S. president? I think LSU also hosted the Nicaraguan president/dictator Anastasio Somoza for the Notre Dame game of '71. His brother Luis, also a former dictator, had attended LSU.

I rode in several motorcades to Tiger Stadium from the guv's mansion during the Edwards years. EWE was never in the limo because he was playing cards downstairs. No former, current or future presidents were there, as far as I know.

Actually, has a sitting US President ever attended a college football game in the last 60 years that didn't have one of the service academies playing in it?

It's a sure bet that LSU is not a part of any answer if so.
