Julia Sweeny is friends with Tarantino and he supposedly did some rewrites on the script for the Pat movie. I actually kind of enjoyed it too.

i FINALLY realized that Steve Buscemi is Vincent Vega and Mia Wallace's waiter at the diner dressed as Buddy Holly. Is this another tie in to reservoir dogs in that this is mr pink in witness protection or hiding?

No, if I remember right Tarantino wanted him for a part in the movie but due to scheduling conflicts he could only be a waiter
