Foil vs Rotary/Norelco vs Braun electric shavers?

Anyone have a recommendation on this? I am looking at these 2 shavers:
Braun
Phillips
Seems foil would be easier to shave with but I don't know. I have a $100 Amazon card to burn and I figure to get one of these with the cleaning system. Looking for anyone with experience with electric shavers. The only time I remember using one, it was pulling the hair on my face and hurt

They pull and hurt when the blades are dull. I use a Braun. The main thing to remember is it takes your face time to adjust to using an electric razor ,so you mave have some irritation. Order replacement blades every 18 months and you should be good. I also rub powder on my face prior to shaving. Makes for a better one.

I can't help you on the electric shaver, sorry.
But if anyone cares, I just got some of these clippers: LINK
to replace my 10 year old cheaper Oster clippers. I probably could have sharpened the old blades or gotten new ones, but the motor was starting to run hot and sound funny, so I just replaced them
These new ones cut like a hot knife through butter. Seriously, the best clippers I've ever used.
But if anyone cares, I just got some of these clippers: LINK

I'm trying to avoid all that as I can just do a manual shave. This is about the lazy quick shave

Once you have adjusted to the foil shaver, they do provide a quick shave. You aren't going to get "art of shaving" cult results, but good nonetheless.
I've been using this Braun for about a year and a half:
Powder does help, but I don't always use it. It just dries out the skin and hair, helps the the stubble stand up, and helps the foil glide across your face a lot faster. I use it when I get out of the shower or if I shave the night before (face might be oily). It's still faster than blade shaving and highly effective.

Yeah, I don't expect manual results but good results. The only negative I can find on foil vs rotary is it is supposedly easier to clean rotary. Another reason why I'm looking at the ones in my link and like you have. Which model is that the 550?

Mine is the 760 actually. I like the self-cleaning aspect of it, even though it's really just a scheme by Braun to sell cleaning cartridges to you every few months. I think there's a way to hack/refill them but I haven't bothered with it. I like a maintenance-free life in as many areas as possible.
However, being able to easily clean it after each shave has kept the blades in good condition. I haven't needed to replace it yet. Granted, I don't shave every day (I work from home so I tend to "forget" to make myself look presentable).

I will still manual shave. This is just for some of those in between days or when I need it in a pinch. Plus, I travel quite a bit and I do everything I can from checking in a bag and you obviously can't bring a razor on the plane.

Take a look at the Panasonic line too. I bought THIS about a year ago and really like it. I take blood thinner medication and the blade was causing too many problems so I decided to try an electric. Not as close a shave as a blade but no pulling or irritation which was my original complaint with electric shavers.

I had a Braun and other shavers years ago, but I got a Panasonic and it was better than any other the others I had used. Five or so years later I decided to upgrade, so of course I got another Panasonic because the first one was so good and the second Panasonic I got is just as good as the first. Only thing I don't like is how much the replacement blades cost.

Yeah, I've decided to order the Panasonic after reading a bunch of reviews and considering the Panasonic allows wet/dry the Braun does not. Many people were claiming their old Brauns were better and the newer ones weren't as good.
The cleaning solution sounds better with the Panasonic. Less irritation it sounds like too. Also, weirdly enough, I couldn't ship the Braun to Hawaii. Not that big since I'm headed to NOLA next month but still, I can get the Panasonic shipped here on my Prime.
