Cost for alarm/remote start install

I got a Viper alarm/remote start for Christmas and was thinking about installing it myself until I opened the box and saw all of the wires. Called Mobile 1 on Clearview and they quoted me $260 installed.
Has anyone had work done there, and if so, how was the quality?
Is $260 a good price for installation of the alarm on my truck? It is a 2004, so there aren't any fancy gadgets and gizmos to slow down the install

That price hasn't changed in the last 15 years.
They do good work.

Yeah it's all gonna be right around that 250 number

The plug-and-playness of remote alarm and starter kits varies as to vehicle. The $260 is probably fair. Mobile One has been around a long time.

Alright cool. The box came with 52 different wires, so I am guessing that is just a generic kit. I don't think I need any special harnesses because I don't have one of those special keys, just a regular old key with no chip in it.
I've always installed my own stuff, but after completely rewiring my sound system and doing a bunch of custom stuff last week, I really don't feel like doing it

I had an alarm/remote start installed on my pickup last summer. My truck is a 2014 with lots of bells and whistles. It took them all day and about 2 hours the following day to complete the job. Labor cost was $350.00.

I went over there the other day and they gave me a tweeter mount pod they randomly had laying around. Pretty sweet considering the speaker company stopped making car audio last year. I haven't ever seen their work though, but I fricking hate sloppiness with a passion. I am gonna call and see if they can do it tomorrow

They are usually pretty busy this time of year. They have many installers and their quality of work varies from each one. A job like you want to do is a gravy job for a seasoned installer. They work off commission and that job is expensive compared to other jobs. More than likely you will have one of the better technicians on that job because it going to go to an installer that A. Can knock it out easily and B. Has some seniority. Like I said it's a gravy job that good installers want to do.

Getting it done this time of year is a good idea. Mine was installed during the summer in a non-air conditioned shop. Installer had BO and stunk up my truck. Took several days for it to dissipate. Considered leaving the keys in it in a seedy part of town the way Jerry Seinfeld did.
