Ram is a surprisingly good truck

I agree. I've rented a few rams and the only knock I have is the back seats didn't seem roomy.

I don't think the Ecoboost engines have been out long enough to have a full grasp on their longevity

Okay. Sure. But the 5.3L in the 2015 GM truck is an "EcoTec3" that was new in 2014. It's a massaged version of the old engine designed as an answer to the new Ford & Dodge engines. It's got VVT, DI, and cylinder deactivation. Not the same "bulletproof" 5.3 they've been using since '99. And still 40 ft/lbs of torque short of the Ecoboost.

The pair of Ford engines that were all-new in 2011 have been the best selling half ton trucks all four years they've been out.

I had a 2012 FX4 w/ ecoboost, and currently have a Sierra with the 5.3 engine. I havent had any issues with the engines, however it is hard to beat the interior of the ford, and thats cuz i have the upgraded badlander package on the sierra. Will be going back to ford when i get a chance. Altough the sierra does ride quieter, but that might be due to the tires. Sierra is a good looking truck though.

How much additional maintenance is there on those turbo charged eco boost engine? Has anyone had to replace the turbo yet?

I think the aluminum body will be great. I wish they sold it with a clear coat so it looks like an airplane. I do wonder if the ride will be as smooth on the lighter truck.

I drive a tundra now and I like it a lot but I will move back to Ford on the next truck because I do not trust my local toyota dealer--Supreme in Hammond.

I have a 2011 EcoBoost (the 1st year they came out), I haven't done anything additional, I have 80K miles on it

I had a 2012 Silverado and switched to a 2014 Ford FX2 when I got a company truck last year. Definitely like the Ford better. It has a much smoother ride, interior looked better (may be better in GMC now) with more features, and the room in the back seat is much better in the Ford.

Yeah oops that's what I meant. Fixed it. Sticker on my 2013 f250 lariat ultimate fx4 was 63. I am scared to see what the new SD's will be when they come out!

I get a different rental truck each week, and it rotates between Ford, Chevy, and Ram. I have owned only Ford's and Toyota's. The interior's of the new Chevy's seem really cheap to me. Like I am in a Kia. The Ford's are solid, but I will never buy a turbo charged engine. Surprisely, the Rams are the best riding, and the one I hope to get each week.

Anyone got any info on what kind of rebates are being offered on the F-150's. I'm going to start shopping next week.

Plan on getting a loaded out Lariat at the end of the year. 4x4, 4 door Supercrew, grill/rims and whatnot that i want seems to be around 48 sticker. What will I be able to snag it for towards the end of the year when the 2016s are coming out? 35? 38?

I don't have any specific insight but a good buddy of mine recently bought an F-150 after doing the same Ford vs GM research that you're doing.

Like I said no specific insight but he usually makes good well researched decisions with stuff like that and he's loved the f150.

Saw a commercial during the Super Bowl for $8,150 off the XLT's- this past May, I got $10K off my loaded '13 Lariat. Would have gotten $1500 more if I was trading in my old one
