We're NOT the Tigers...rather the FIGHTING TIGERS!

Sick of seeing the team nickname being the LSU Tigers. We are the LSU Fighting Tigers and sways have been. Just like kill Toonces, let's make sure we are called The Fighting Tigers.

I've always wandered why the school has distanced itself from the Fighting Tigers identity. Great history there with the army unit, Chatham Wheat, and so on. Our nickname having its origination in a colorful Civil War unit is pretty cool.

LSU needs to use it on there releases and tell the announcers what they like to be called. I know Hawthorne uses it, especially with hoops.

Well the past 3 years under Miles we have looked more like the LSU Tigers and not the LSU Fighting Tigers!!!

So you came to the LSU sports board and expect people to ignore the major sport and it's issues? You must have been top of your class.
Oh and I'm alumni and I'm far more concerned with the current state of the flagship sport then I am with our mascot, colors, name, address, etc. Funny, I feel like I'm supporting my university as well by being concerned about these things.

hmmmm....we need a new (old) identity so to speak. Something hasn't been right since that magical season that ended the wrong way in January of 2012. The Fighting Tigers were bad arse, and the period descriptions are still applicable to the culture that surrounds the school today. Why not emphasis it as part of the re-branding that is being currently on-going.
