Hard to figure strength based on meaningless bowl games...some teams get up and some teams just go thru the motions...Kind of like what LSU did against ND, just weren't playing up to their full potential...

Before the season started the prevailing thought was that the SEC was having a down year, then MSU beats LSU, OM beats Bama, A&M starting strong, etc. All of a sudden the SEC has 3 of the top 4 teams and everyone is on the SEC bandwagon again. But down the stretch reality sets in after all and perhaps (I believe so actually) the pundits were correct after all. LSU loses to ND and OM and MSU get steamrolled. Next two to three years the SEC will be brutally strong again, but not this year. Bama, LSU, and imho Arky will be very strong during that time. (Well with LSU it all depends on the qb )

Looking forward to SEC dominance in 2015 once again.

Bowl games are never an accurate depiction of how good a team is. If it isn't the Playoffs or Championship game a lot of kids are not going to play 100%.

As for LSU, Chavis' mind was obviously not in the game. He coached VERY poorly against a extremely average ND offense.

2015 is what I will be waiting for now. Hopefully we secure Coach CP and we open up our passing game. The JJ/Lee era has taken any balls that Les had with risks in the passing game completely away.

I agree that bowl games can be a bad predictor. BUT, if you guys think this laid egg won't be used next year when someone talks about how great the SEC is to justify why our 1 loss teams are ranked above other 1 loss teams, you're crazy. Especially given the type of eggs laid by the Miss schools.

If Auburn and Bama lose today, I guarantee you Shorty Rob , Im coming on here tonight ant will start the thread with the title "SEC West sucked arse." Even at that , I agree with you Bowl games or not, If the players are not going to show up and play, then let us fans know because I would rather save my money than paying for plane tickets, food, and hotel room etc. than go watch a shitfest like Ive done mostly in the last few years.

LSU loses on a horrible review.

TCU was in about the weakest bowl possible for really being the best looking team in the Big 12. Ole Miss was unlucky to draw them.

Miss State was missing their defensive coordinator. And to be honest they still scored a lot. A few stops may have been a different result.

This thread has generated a great list of excuses why the SEC West was so tough during the regular season but weak during bowl season.

Good to know.

It might've been a bunch of relatively equal teams.
