I need a heart rate thingy, but I'm not upgrading to the Charge because my husband gave me about 10 different colored fitbit bracelets as one of my Christmas gifts.

I've got the most basic one. Basically just a pedometer that synchs with my page on the website.

I have the Jawbone UP24. I love it. It's kept me honest and focused me on eating better things. I've managed to lose about 30 pounds in 3 months.

Get a Microsoft Band. Much better than the Fitbit. Fitness band plus a smart watch with continuous HR monitoring. GPS as well. It's a product that will continue to improve with each update that you can upload on the band. Had mine since they came out and I really like it. Seeing incoming texts, emails, calls, etc is a really nice feature as well. And you can customize the display(colors/wallpaper) of the band....I change mine everyday to match what I'm wearing

I broke 7 fitbit bands so I put that POS in retirement.

Loved the tracking and web site but couldn't keep the bands from falling apart

Wore it 24-7

I have one (basic model) for a Workplace Wellness deal. I really see no use for it otherwise. I don't see any practical reason to track my steps, other than my employer paying me $500 if I average at least 6K/day for a year.

Aren't these just to make fat people feel better about walking around their house?

I use mine to track how many calories burned during my workouts. Also maps out my rides/hikes and tells me distance traveled. They are great to motivate you if you are trying to get/stay in shape.

That is the intended purpose, but some people use it for a lot more.

Microsoft band does and it's awesome

Only downside is battery life and it's not waterproof (it's splash resistant though).

ETA: I usually charge mine everyday while I'm showering and that's enough to keep it charged up.

They're for motivation, that's it.
