He wants Miles out. That is why he does not raise Chavis knowing he will leave so when he fires Miles less money to be paid out. I really believe Miles days are numbered in Alleva's eyes. Anyone else see this as a possibility?

at this point, Alleva's days are numbered in his eyes and he's trying to keep his gig.

It's plausible.

More likely though, he knows Miles is going to retire sometime in the pretty near future.

LSU's staff is already the highest paid staff in the country. The AD has to draw a line somewhere. I'd think that was part of the thought process.

You can't match the "stupid money" and $1.7M (with a guarantee regardless of HC as reported) for Chavis seems too much. And I like Chavis...

You give Alleva too much credit. He is much more concerned with turning a profit than he is with overseeing an athletic program that will compete for national championships in most sports.

It's not stupid money it's market value. Do you think Muschamp is worth 1.7 million?

Unfortunately, there is no one to check Alleva. The Bos don't care....Jindal sure as hell doesn't care. Only hope is Alexander see what kind of disaster is brewing and forces him out.

You give that idiot too much credit.

This is the same guy that signed a womens basketball coach to a salary higher than paul mainieri. (have you seen her record?)

He never holds coaches accountable just offers extensions. Same AD that believed Miles was going to go to Arkansas and offered him a contract that we are stuck with.

He offered Chavis an extension already. If he wanted him out why bother?

I don't think $1.3M-$1.7M guaranteed for 3 years (regardless of HC) for a DC is market value. Nope.
