Driving in late tonight, and will be there till Saturday afternoon. What are some good spots that aren't too expensive? Might spend most of the time on the Dallas side, but might check out FW.

TIA

Almost 7 million people in DFW, gonna need to be a little more specific

What part of dallas, what type of cuisine, how much you wanting to spend, is this for a group of guys or date type places.

Too many to name but in the meantime check out this list from d magazine. It ranked the top 100 restaurants in the city. Although I disagree with a lot of them, it's a good starting point and has some very good places on there

I'll help you narrow it down once you respond

top 100

Thanks, dallastiger. I'm only by myself. Would like to try some cheap eats type of stuff. As for food types, open to anything. Would like a good BBQ place.

I'll read that list at my break

Ok in that case I'll give you some good bets
Just google them

Bbq

Pecan lodge- must try if you get a chance
Slow bone
Lockhart

Tex mex

Mesa Meya
Pepe and Mitos
Mia's

Other

Maple and motor
Hoppdaddys
Scotch and sausage
H&G supply

Also not sure if you're a craft beer guy, but dfw has seen an explosion of breweries and all are open during day and have tasting rooms. If I were by myself I'd go over to new trinity groves district. It has a brewery called four corners that has a cool bar and tasting room and music. Also has tons of restaurants and bars. Luck is a new place that kicks arse. Amberjacks is great too

Good luck

I would hit Angry Dog for a burger....it's down the street from Pecan Lodge so you could then go back to the hotel and purge.

I used to highly recommend Louie's Pizza. Its a dive bar with great pizza. But they just changed the type cheese they use and its not as good. It's still a great bar to stop for a drink. They have other Italian food there but I have never tried any of it in 20 yrs since there pizza was so good.

For Craft Beer Luck is good but I am not a big fan of the corporate feel they exude. It's a bit clean for me. Strangeways is a funky craft beer bar/ full bar that always has unusual sours and other good stuff on tap. If you are on Lower Greenville there are 4 craft beer spots within 100 yards of each other and 3 more spots that have a decent selection. Beer Kitchen, Bottle Shop, Blind Butcher (good food too), Libertine (pretty good food) and then Single Wide, Truck Yard (Great Austin type outdoor space) and HG Supply have decent selections. Meddlesome Moth is probably the gold standard for Gastro Pubs in Dallas.....although again, a little too corporate and clean for my taste.

Highly recommend H G Supply company. Best outdoor space in all of Dallas. Abacus, Victor Tangos, pecan Lodge are other places I recommend

Enjoyed the few days I had in Dallas, but was pretty full after one huge arse lunch each day. Tried Pepe and Mitos yesterday and i thought it was delicious. The chips are nice too for starters.

A place I tried in West End after I saw the JFK place, was Ellen's, and I thought it was fine.

Really hoping to go back again. Wasn't a bad (only 5 hrs) drive from the Panhandle.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.
