I've started watching House of Cards and have enjoyed it so far. Watch S1E4 last night and stuff is starting to get crazy.

Those are not bad choices. I have been off for a while and have recently watched Peaky Blinders, Marco Polo and am over half way through Lilleyhammer. I would recommend any of these.

I have never even heard of those.
The problem is that i'm not one that can just binge on TV shows. I get too antzy and will start goofing around on the internet while watching the shows, so i'm really not watching them. would like to concentrate solely on the shows so need something that is going to grab my attention. Walking Dead and SOA are 2 shows that grab my attention.

Free with Amazon Prime subscription. Could probably buy it on Amazon if you're not a Prime member. Worth it.

I tried watching The Wire from the start (never seen a single episode) and I keep falling asleep midway through E1 S1.

I decided to watch 1 episode of wire and 1 of shield to see what I liked better. Currently watching wire.
Edit. Pretty good first episode. Been 3 years since I watched first season of wire and forgot mostly everything.

Can't go wrong with either. The Wire is the better show, the Shield is more fun IMO
