I honestly like those $20 lock on stands from Academy (think Wild Game) that were on sale in the off season. Have about 4 up and more than happy with the comfort.

I need to weigh mine. I think it's in the 16 to 18 area.

i use the summit climbers the most, the old and fat model... hang bow before daylight, take nap, wake, start hunting when able to see or when snoring wakes me up, whichever comes first..

I've used a summit viper for 15+ years and love it. If you are fairly tall I'd highly recommend adding the folding footrest.

Serious question-

What is the point of a lock-on stand? I get the need for a climber, but if you are using a lock on, then why no just use a ladder stand?

I don't want to sound ignorant but I always wondered why the need for a lock on

Smaller profile on the tree and easier to conceal
Ability to get higher so wind is less of a factor - depending on terrain
Ability to go above some branches without cutting cover
More portable than a ladder
Cheaper- you can usually get 2:1 for the cost of a climber
